Strategic partnership with Gelsenwasser AG
The [ui!] Group of Companies has entered into a strategic partnership with GELSENWASSER AG in order to jointly make cities, districts and regions more livable and to actively counteract climate change.
Many communities are facing an enormous transformation task: How do they sustainably address climate change while enhancing quality of life?
[ui!] and Gelsenwasser see the development of digitally networked cities and regions as a central field of development and have therefore entered into a strategic partnership.
Lutz Heuser, CEO [ui!] is looking forward to the strategic partnership: "GELSENWASSER AG is one of the leading specialists for water, wastewater and sustainable infrastructure in Germany. They will enable [ui!], in the future, to offer needs-based solutions not only to communities - but also to utilities and waste management companies, thus addressing a new market segment."
In digitally networked communities, sectors that still operate largely separately today, can cooperate much more closely and offer citizens better service. These include the sectors of administration, supply and disposal, environment, mobility, real estate, IT and telecommunications, as well as the health or security sector.
Many challenges can be solved by improving the use of existing local utility data, supplemented by other sources of information. Gelsenwasser is driving forward the digitalization of its own infrastructures and stands by partner communities in such digitalization projects. Together with [ui!], this path is being consistently pursued and the leading data infrastructure for communities and local companies is being further expanded.
Currently, it is clear how important access to all relevant data and their timely processing is for urban decision makers. This data sovereignty requires a suitable infrastructure such as the open urban data platform "[ui!] UrbanPulse" developed by [ui!].
Joint pilot project underway
[ui!] and Gelsenwasser are already working together on a pilot project in Gelsenkirchen. This integrates multifunctional street lighting, parking space monitoring, traffic counting and environmental data management into a holistic system. Data is collected via sensors, stored, and analyzed using artificial intelligence tools, and processes are controlled in real-time. In the near future, the partners will develop further strategic industry applications and present them to the relevant communities, districts, utilities and waste management companies.
